ABOUT DR. JOE COHEN

Dr. Cohen graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1975 with a B.A. in Biology after having served in the US Air Force. He attended medical school in Des Moines, IA where he received his degree as a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed a 4-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bridgeport Hospital in affiliation with the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen subsequently had a private practice as an Ob/Gyn from 1983-2001 in both CT and CO before venturing off to Wyoming to care for women in the Arapahoe and Shoshoni tribes.

 

He also worked with indigent patients as a hospitalist in Ob/Gyn at The Medical Center of Aurora before venturing off to New Zealand. After returning from New Zealand in 2009, where he worked with Maori women, Dr. Cohen returned to practicing Functional Medicine with an emphasis on Women’s Health in addition to founding Holos Health, specializing in Cannabinoid Medicine.

 

Fifty and Change has brought him full circle to his roots as a specialist in Women’s Health with an emphasis on Menopause and the prevention and treatment of Osteoporosis and other chronic diseases utilizing a Functional Medicine approach.
